About Idukki District
Idukki is Kerala's largest district by area and its most mountainous. The rolling tea plantations of Munnar, the wildlife-rich forests of Periyar (Thekkady), and the misty heights of Vagamon and Ramakkalmedu all lie within its borders. The Idukki Arch Dam, one of the highest in Asia, is an engineering marvel set amidst stunning scenery. Meesapulimala, the second highest peak in South India, attracts trekkers from around the world. For spice lovers, the Cardamom Hills fill the air with the aroma of pepper, cardamom, and cloves.
