Payyambalam Beach

Payyambalam Beach, known for its pristine, golden sands and calm waters, is one of the most popular and clean beaches in Kannur. The approach is via a small crossover bridge over a narrow canal, near which are memorials for Kannur's political figures. The beach is a favorite for family outings, picnics, and is often a shooting location for South Indian films. A prominent feature is the striking 'Mother and Child' sculpture by Kanayi Kunhiraman, which adds to the beach's artistic charm. It’s ideal for relaxing, swimming, and various water sports.
